TPC Research

In cooperation with independent breeders, we develop new potato varieties in our own breeding programme. These breeders are skilled entrepreneurs who can deliver quick results. As a result, TPC can register new varieties for the variety list after only 5 years on average. We test each variety at four locations worldwide, so that we can test all climate zones and day lengths. Thanks to this unique variety testing and our courage to make choices, we can speed up the breeding process by 5 years. Want to know more about our way of growing seed potatoes? Within TPC, Alisa Stet fulfils the role of licence coordinator. In this position, she deals with licence reports, customer contact, contracts and marketing support for licence customers. She also maintains contact with growers and ensures that reports and ongoing issues within TPC run smoothly.

TPC is not an unfamiliar environment for Alisa. As the daughter of the former owners, she used to work with them during holidays and open days. She has always found the world of potatoes and agriculture interesting, although her first career was in a different direction. After studying business administration with a focus on fashion and two years of work experience in fashion, she decided to change tack when a vacancy at TPC became available.

According to Alisa, TPC's strength lies in the team. Together, we always get things done. Because TPC is a relatively small company, everyone is easy to approach. It often feels like a team sport. Everyone's differences allow everyone to use their own qualities and together form a strong team.

What Alisa appreciates most about her work is that she learns something new every day and no day is the same.

She finds it special how potatoes brings you in contact with people from all over the world from completely different cultures. It's great fun to work with other companies and really grow together.

Looking ahead, Alisa sees great opportunities in the field of sustainable speciality potato varieties. She finds TPC's own breeding programme special, precisely because TPC is a relatively small trading company. She also sees great potential in further steps around sustainability and more transparency on this.

With her broad background and her focus on collaboration and development, Alisa contributes every day to further strengthening TPC and seeks to contribute to its ambitions towards a more sustainable future.
