As a trading house in seed potatoes, The Potato Company exports to more than 50 countries. We develop unique potato varieties with high resistance to potato fatigue (AM), drought and diseases. Each seed potato variety is grown by TPC at 4 locations worldwide, allowing us to test that potato variety under different climate conditions and day lengths. Photographs include TPC's growing locations, growers, breeders and varieties around the world and, of course, our company in Emmeloord, in the potato capital of the world. For more information about our seed potatoes, please feel free to contact on.

TPC test haar zaailingen en rassen op frietkwaliteit volgens de norm van de industrie. We meten, bakken en vergelijken tot op de millimeter nauwkeurig.
Minder suikers = minder bruine puntjes = topkwaliteit friet.
Zo zorgen we dat onze aardappelen scoren op smaak én uitstraling.

At TPC we test our seedlings and varieties for fry quality according to strict industry standards. We measure fry and compare with millimetre precision.
Less sugar = fewer coloration = top-quality fries.
That’s how we ensure our potatoes deliver on both taste and frying quality.

Within TPC, Jos works as a field sales representative. “What I like most about my job is the contact with the growers and with our buyers from many different countries,” Jos says. “I like to visit the growers with foreign buyers to show them the potatoes they buy and assess them for quality and quantity. No day is the same.”
A working day often starts at the office for Jos. “I check my mail, consult with colleagues and we discuss what's on the schedule and which batches are suitable for which destination. Then I contact growers about sorting and packing and go out to assess potatoes for quality. I also visit growers to see if free varieties are for sale.”
About TPC, Jos is clear: “It feels like a family business. There are short lines of communication, we switch quickly and there is no bureaucracy. Everyone knows each other and we rely on each other's expertise and responsibilities. The motto is: do what you say and say what you do.”
Honesty and reliability are important to Jos. “I like achieving the highest achievable goals together with growers and buyers in good conversation and harmony, so that everyone is satisfied and can look back on a good cooperation.”
Finally, he looks to the future with enthusiasm. “I see many opportunities in the cooperation with TPC Research,” says Jos. “Think of AM-resistant varieties, virus-free varieties, varieties with minimal nitrogen requirements and varieties that require little water with high salt tolerance. Buying and selling free varieties also offers great opportunities.”

EN: TPC Research has uprooted the trial field in Méricourt (northern France). On this soil, suitable for table potatoes, we were able to harvest nice potatoes despite the hot growing season. In the coming weeks, we will assess the varieties for yield, quality and presentation. These potatoes will be on display at the TPC Potato Show on 5, 6 and 7 November.
